Folio

A folio is the running account attached to a stay — the room charge plus everything the guest adds to it, settled at check-out.

Worked example

A guest on a three-night stay at ₱3,800 charges two lunches and a dive trip to the room.
Room ₱11,400, F&B ₱1,240, dive ₱2,500 — one folio of ₱15,140, settled once at check-out.
Without a folio that is three separate cash moments, two of which happen when the guest has no wallet on them.

Why it matters

It is what makes “charge it to my room” possible. Without one, every extra is a separate cash transaction at the moment it happens, which is slower for the guest and leakier for you.

For a property with a restaurant, the folio is the difference between a guest signing for lunch and a waiter chasing them for ₱480.

Folios are also where upselling actually becomes easy. A guest who can sign for something buys more of it than a guest who has to find cash, which is most of the argument for charge-to-room.
