How it started

A hotel we were running, and no software that fit it

MangoHost began as an internal tool. We were running a hotel ourselves, and every piece of software we looked at was either priced for a much bigger property, priced per room in a way that punished us for growing, or solved one problem — bookings, or expenses, or housekeeping — while leaving the rest as a spreadsheet and a notebook.

Nothing fit a small Philippine property honestly. So we built the piece we needed, then the next piece, until what we had covered the whole operation rather than one corner of it.

How it became a product

We used it before we ever sold it

We ran our own property on it for long enough to know what actually mattered and what was just convenient to build. When we saw how much clearer the numbers were — real profit, not a guess; a calendar nobody could double-book by accident — it was obvious the same tool would be worth more than what it cost us to build, to anyone else running a small hotel in this market.

That is the honest order things happened in: we built it to solve our own problem, used it long enough to trust it, and only then turned it into MangoHost — a system other Philippine properties could run on too.

What we’re actually trying to do

Useful tools for businesses that get overlooked

We are a small team with a genuine interest in building useful online products for small and medium businesses — the ones a bigger vendor prices out or builds for somewhere else and never adjusts. MangoHost is the first of those built all the way through; it will not be the last.

That is also why we keep testing it against our own experience of running a property, not just against a spec sheet. A feature earns its place because it solved a real problem for us first — the departmental profit split, the audit log, the two-step login — not because a competitor had a similar line item on their pricing page.

What that means day to day

A small team, reachable directly

There is no ticket queue between you and someone who understands the product. If something is broken, confusing, or just wrong for how your property actually runs, you are talking to the people who built it — not a support tier reading from a script.
