Electricity, linen, commissions and salaries — in the same place as the money coming in.
Revenue is easy to add up. Costs are not, because they arrive in different shapes: an electricity bill every month, a generator repair once, thirteen salaries on the fifteenth, and a commission that depends on where the booking came from.
So the costs sit in a folder and get totalled once a quarter, if that. Which means the profit figure — the only number that answers whether this is working — is always an estimate.

The workflow
How it works
Costs that repeat, entered once
Electricity, water, internet, insurance, permits: enter them once as recurring, monthly or quarterly or yearly, with an end date if the contract has one. They appear every period without anyone re-typing them.
One-off costs — a new pool pump, a generator overhaul — go in as they happen, categorised, so a spike in a month has a name.
Paid, or still owed
A cost that exists and a cost that has been settled are different facts, and the difference matters at the end of a month. Expenses carry their settlement state, so what you owe is visible rather than remembered.
Your team, and what it costs
The roster holds each person's role, employment type — full-time, part-time or contract — monthly salary and start date. Payroll for the month is the sum, and it is shown as its own figure rather than buried in expenses, because it is usually the largest single cost a small hotel has.
When someone leaves, set them inactive. They stop counting toward payroll and their history stays intact, which is what you want when you look back at last year.
It all lands in the profit figure
This is the point of the page. Neither expenses nor payroll are a separate report you have to go and read — both are subtracted automatically, so the net profit on your analytics screen is the real one.
Worth knowing
This is payroll cost tracking, not payroll processing
MangoHost tells you what your staff cost and folds it into your profit. It does not file with the BIR, generate payslips, compute SSS, PhilHealth or Pag-IBIG contributions, or move money. If you need a payroll bureau, you still need one — this replaces the spreadsheet where you were adding salaries up, not your accountant.
