Sell more than the room
Transfers, dive trips, breakfast — priced per person or per night, and on the booking rather than in a side conversation.
The airport transfer, the dive trip, the extra bed, breakfast for two of the four guests. Every property sells these, and almost none of them appear anywhere in the system — they are agreed over Messenger and settled in cash at the desk.
Which means they are missing from the booking, missing from the guest's bill, and missing from the revenue figure you make decisions on.
Optional services is one of the modules included in the MangoHost platform — every plan has all of them, so nothing on this page is an upsell.
The workflow
How it works
Services you define once
Set up what you sell: a name, a description, a price. Either a single service, or a choice group where the guest picks one option — and a choice group can be required, for the transfer question you always have to ask.
Priced the way the thing is actually priced
Some extras are per person: breakfast, a tour, an island-hopping seat. Some are per night: a cot, parking, a late checkout on each day of a long stay. Some are flat, once, for the whole booking.
Each service is marked per-person, per-night, both, or neither, and the total resolves from the booking's guest count and night count. Nobody is multiplying anything by hand.
On the booking, in the revenue
Chosen services resolve as line items on the reservation, so what the guest actually owes is on their booking and what you actually earned is in your numbers.
That is the whole argument: an extra you sold in a chat is indistinguishable from one you did not sell.
Required choices, for the question you always ask
A choice group can be marked required, which means the booking cannot be completed without an answer. Airport transfer: yes, no, arriving by own vehicle. Breakfast: included, added, not required.
That is how a question you currently ask in a follow-up message becomes something answered at the point of booking.
The arithmetic nobody should be doing by hand
Breakfast at ₱250 per person for four guests over three nights is one number if it is per-person, another if it is per-night, and a third if it is both. Getting it wrong is easy, and it is always wrong in the guest's favour at the desk and in yours in the accounts.
Marking a service per-person, per-night, both or neither means the total resolves from the booking itself — from the guest count and the night count already on it.
Retire a service without rewriting history
Services carry an active flag and a sort order. Stop selling the sunset cruise and it disappears from new bookings while every booking that included it keeps its line item and its price.
Which is what you want when you look back at what a good season was actually made of.
In detail
| Single services | One name, one price. |
|---|---|
| Choice groups | The guest picks one option; the group can be required. |
| Per-person pricing | Multiplied by the booking's guest count. |
| Per-night pricing | Multiplied by nights; one for a day-use booking. |
| Both, or neither | Per-person and per-night combine; neither means a flat charge. |
| Ordering and retirement | Sort order, and an active flag. |
| Booking line items | Resolved onto the reservation total. |
