DOT accreditation

DOT accreditation is voluntary certification by the Philippine Department of Tourism that a property meets its standards for its category.

Why it matters

It is not required to operate, and most small properties do not have it. It matters for access to some government programmes, for certain corporate and group business, and as a trust signal to domestic travellers.

Because it is voluntary, software that treats it as mandatory gets in the way of the majority of this market.
